The Lonestar State

So I guess I am officially a Texan. I live in Texas now and letmetellya. It is much different here than it is in California. First of all, the weather is hot and humid, while the Bay Area was dry and cool. In the summer, Texas is as green as can be because of all the summer thunder storms. California on the other hand is dry with fires that start from dry grass. The food here is great! And the cost of drinks and food is less. I live in a suburb off of Dallas, so there are a lot of stores and places to eat; it isn’t just ranches and barns. Oh! And I don’t ride a tractor to school every day (in case you were wondering).

Oh yeah, speaking of school, I start on the 16th of August. The first Friday I arrived in Texas I went to a volleyball camp at school. I made some new friends who gave me a scoop on my new school. I go to a Christian private school, and there isn’t as much drama as you think (but then again…there is more than you think). There is a group of girls I should watch out for. They lure you in then drop you off a cliff right when you see their bad side. There are the two popular girls who are the prettiest and all of the guys ask them out (Which I don’t really care about considering I don’t want to have a boyfriend or anything…what’s the point? Drama?). I wonder if they dress alike and finish each other’s sentences? And my friend Hannah said that there is one guy who is really hot but doesn’t date (which is her problem. Because personally, I couldn’t care less).

Camp was fun and I really improved on a lot of things including my previously horrible overhand serve. I still can’t stand behind the line and get it over but now I can hit the ball near the net! But all of my thoughts about trying out for JV are gone. I forgot to put in the factor that I now live in Texas. They are HUGE on sports and I don’t really feel like committing like they need me to. I mean, come on! The school is in a new division and now there is practice everyday from 9am-12pm and then 4-6pm!!! That is seven hours a day. Nonono. I am not athletic and if I TRIED to do that then I would die. I could barely make it through seven hours of camp throughout two days :O

On another note…I get to see my cousins almost every day now! I love them, but not always that much. They get on the ground and hold on to my legs while I walk. Did I mention there is five of them? Yeah. Four boys and one girl. Two boys are almost eight years old, one is six, and one just turned four last Thursday (on his birthday I asked him if he was the birthday boy and he said, “No. I am the king of the babies!” bahahaha). We have a pool at our apartment complex so they are over a lot ;)

I hope that this helps cover the last few weeks I haven’t written!
